Coach Goss is the head coach of the Hornet women’s indoor and outdoor track and field teams. Goss a 2001 LC graduate, excelled in his four-year career as a Hornet. He was named the 2001 NCAA National Athlete of the Year for outdoor track in 2001 and earned All-American honors 10 times. Goss was the national champion in the long jump, was a five-time South/Southeast Regional Athlete of the Year and a six-time Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Athlete of the Year. Goss spent five years as an Assistant Track& Field coach for Emory University (GA), specializing in the sprints and jumps. He co-founded the Emory Speed & Strength Camp in 2005 and also worked as the director of the event. He graduated with his master’s degree in sports administration from Georgia State University in May 2006. |

Coach Smith is a faculty member in the School of Health Science and Human Performance teaching courses in Health and Physical Education and Exercise Physiology. He also serves as the strength & conditioning coach for the men's and women's track & field teams at Lynchburg. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) and he holds two credentials from USA Weightlifting (Certified Sports Performance Coach and Club Coach). Smith also played baseball and football at Division I Arizona State University before transferring to Lynchburg. He graduated from Lynchburg in 1997 (B.S.) and in 1999 (M.Ed.) He is currently pursuing his doctorate from the University of Virginia in Motor Learning |
